ImageBALANGA CITY, Bataan – Provincial and city employees were “flooded” with cash bonuses and other prizes during their Christmas party Tuesday night, thanks to the courtesy of the Garcias.

The more than 1,000 employees of Balanga City and provincial capitol were in high spirits due to the extra bonuses, aside from the P15,000 cash bonus they had already received from Mayor Joet S. Garcia and Governor Enrique “Tet” Garcia.

This was the first time that these employees had received such big amount of cash and other emoluments as they lauded the Garcias for giving their bonuses on time and other prices.

BALANGA CITY—Local and tourism executives here opened the impressively designed Bataan Tourism Center (BTC) to boost tourism and help tourism-related businesses in the province.

   The tourism center, conceptually designed by world-renowned Jun Palafox, has a 600-square-meter floor space on a 2-hectare site along Roman Highway, this city. Its interior design is Asian-inspired, said tourism executives here.

Bataan continuously educates residents, students on mangrove reforestation of coastal areas PDF Print E-mail

ImageBALANGA CITY—Villagers and students here are continuously educated on the importance of mangrove reforestation in the environment that eventually encourage them to actively join in the greening of Bataan coastal areas.          

Susan Capuli, auditor and coordinator of Sagip Lingap Yamang Dagat (Salba), said that officers of their group regularly visit coastal barangays here to educate villagers on mangrove reforestation.

She said they have already conducted an information campaign in the coastal villages of Limay town. A group of small fisherfolks, assisted by Salba, has a mangrove-reforestation project in this town.
