A total of 130 learners from Overland Elementary School in Bagac will soon study in more conducive classrooms with the completion of a new two-story, four-classroom building constructed by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The P13-million project, located in Barangay Atilano L. Ricardo, was funded under the Department of Education’s Basic Educational Facilities Fund in the 2024 national budget. It supports the Marcos administration’s priority of providing accessible and quality education nationwide.
The modern facility features male, female, and PWD-friendly restrooms, an accessibility ramp, and a handwashing station. Each of the fully furnished classrooms has proper ventilation, while the 532-square-meter building is expected to help address the school’s classroom shortage.
DPWH Bataan 3rd District Engineer Maribel Navarro underscored the importance of the project in supporting learners, while Master Teacher Nora Jornal thanked DPWH and DepEd, stressing that the new building will benefit both students and teachers in ensuring quality education.
