The municipal government of Abucay has begun releasing 40 percent of the payouts for students under the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), Mayor Erik Martel announced. The assistance aims to support young beneficiaries who rendered service during the program period, helping them continue their studies.

Mayor Martel expressed gratitude to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), led by Ms. Nerissa P. Verona, for ensuring the smooth rollout of the financial assistance. He also reiterated the local government’s commitment to expanding the number of student-beneficiaries in future SPES cycles.

The mayor reminded recipients to use their earnings wisely and to remain grateful for the opportunities and support they receive. He encouraged the youth of Abucay to maximize the program as a stepping stone toward their academic and personal growth.
