A new kind of assistant is now roaming the halls of the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) — and it’s not human. Meet KettyBot, the Freeport’s first-ever service robot designed to greet guests, deliver materials, play cheerful tunes, and share the latest updates about the Freeport.
Compact, friendly, and efficient, KettyBot represents AFAB’s latest step toward integrating smart technology into government operations. The robot, equipped with an 18.5-inch interactive screen, voice interaction, and AI-based navigation, can safely move through crowded corridors, carry up to 30 kilograms of materials, and return automatically to its charging station when idle.
Beyond its technical functions, KettyBot adds a touch of innovation to AFAB’s workplace environment. It serves as a mobile information hub, assists in welcoming guests, and even acts as a digital display for public announcements — giving both employees and visitors a glimpse of the Freeport’s evolving approach to public service.
While still in its pilot phase, KettyBot symbolizes AFAB’s ongoing effort to enhance operational efficiency and improve visitor engagement through modern tools. It reflects the authority’s goal to adopt technology that simplifies work while keeping human interaction at the center.
In an era when many government offices remain tied to traditional methods, AFAB’s embrace of smart robotics highlights a forward-thinking vision — one that positions the Freeport as a model for dynamic, adaptive, and tech-driven public service in the country.
