A new chapter in Bataan’s healthcare system unfolded on October 24, 2025, with the blessing and inauguration of the Antonino “Tony” P. Roman Memorial Hospital, formerly known as the Orani District Hospital, originally located in Barangay Maria Fe, Orani.
The newly upgraded facility, now situated at the 1Bataan Command Center in Barangay Doña, Orani, is designed to deliver faster and more efficient medical services to residents across the province.
The blessing was officiated by Most Rev. Rufino Coronel Sescon Jr., D.D., Bishop of the Diocese of Balanga. The hospital’s expansion marks a major milestone in strengthening Bataan’s healthcare system, featuring modern facilities, advanced medical equipment, and a more comfortable environment for both patients and healthcare workers.
Provincial leaders Governor Joet Garcia and Congressman Abet Garcia attended the occasion, joining local officials and healthcare partners in celebrating this milestone. “Maraming taon na po ang pinagdaanan ng ating hospital at nakita po natin ang mga kontribusyon ng mga lingkod bayan sa ating hospital. Congratulations po at looking forward sa mga health services ng ating bagong hospital” Gov. Garcia said.
Also present during the event were Vice Governor Cris Garcia, Congressman Tony Roman, former Congresswoman Geraldine Roman, and representatives from various hospitals in the province.
Named in honor of the late Congressman Antonino “Tony” P. Roman, the hospital stands as a lasting tribute to his legacy of public service and compassion for the people of Bataan. With this expansion, the province continues its mission to build a stronger, healthier, and more resilient community, where every family has access to essential medical care close to home.
