Bataan is firmly establishing itself as one of the Philippines’ most dynamic economic engines, based on the latest data of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) which showcases the province’s exceptional growth trajectory in 2024.
According to PSA, the province has recorded a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) expansion of 9.3 percent making Bataan as the fifth fastest-growing economy across all 82 provinces and 33 Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs) nationwide, surpassing the 2024 national GDP growth rate of 5.7% and positioning Bataan as the economic center in Central Luzon.
Furthermore, the aforementioned success is also because Bataan remains as one of the Top 10 largest economies in terms of absolute GDP size—brought about by the robust industrial and eco-tourism hub in the province, which are the primary factors fueling this growth with the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB) as one of the pillars.
The strong economic performance of Bataan is a testament of the province’s increased employment, improved livelihood, and improved quality of life for Bataeño families, securing Bataan’s future as a key economic center that drives progress for the wider Philippine economy.
