Pusong Pinoy Partylist Rep. Jett Nisay announced that the free blood assistance program for Bataeños has earned national recognition, highlighting its impact on addressing urgent health needs in the province. Nisay made the statement in his capacity as chairman of the board of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Bataan Chapter.
Rep. Nisay said the program is implemented in partnership with PRC Bataan, its board of directors, and the Provincial Government of Bataan to ensure that health-related programs and services respond to the needs of local communities. He added that youth participation is also being strengthened through coordination with the Bataan Peninsula State University–Red Cross Youth (BPSU-RCY), including plans to expand health caravans across the province.
During a recent meeting with BPSU-RCY officers led by Mark Harold Quinto, the group also received a Plaque of Award from the Philippine Red Cross, recognizing Nisay as a Testimonial Samaritan Awardee. The recognition cited his initiative in supporting the Blood Samaritan Program, which provides free blood bag units for patients in need of transfusion, including dialysis patients.
From 2023 to the present, with funding set to continue until 2026, a total of ₱3.5 million has been allocated to the program. Records show that 684 patients have benefited, with 1,296 blood bag units distributed, as PRC Bataan continues to deliver medical assistance and emergency response services across the province.
