Construction of Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge seen to start ‘soon’

Start of the construction of Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge is more likely to start “soon”. There was no definite date indicated but the multi-billion project was particularly mentioned by President Marcos, Jr. in his last State of the Nation Address (SONA) where he said work on the bridge will start at the end of 2025.

The local government of Bataan under Gov. Joet Garcia was seemingly overwhelmed by a sense of optimism following a recent consultative meeting with Regional Director Nerissa Esguerra of Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) together with representatives of different national and local government agencies.

Gov. Garcia said discussions in the meeting centered on multi-billion peso Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge, and other national projects and programs that redound to development of Bataan and the region.

The said interlink bridge will connect Mariveles, Bataan to Naic, Cavite and will shorten travel time from three hours to a mere 45 minutes. Experts say the project supported by the Asian Development Bank will be completed by the year 2029.
