
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTi) provincial office here has recorded a four percent 4% increase in the number of registered businesses under the micro, small and medium enterprises category.
Ms. Teresita Magtanong, DTI Business Development Division Chief, said the increase of 4% or a total of 402 enlisted business establishments from year 2022 of 9,647, to year 2024 of 10,049 is indicative of a strong level of opportunities and a growing business climate in the historic peninsula. The continued surge indicates stability in socio-economic aspect and population growth in the rural communities.
Ms. Magtanong cited the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Bataan is an indication of growing economic growth of Bataan, with the government authorities continuous formulation of development plan of improving road network facilities, improving health and service oriented facilities, competitive investment opportunities to prospective investors and other tangible socio-economic activities enhancing the quality of education, peace and order and other programs to generate public support.
The program of continuous business enhancement strategy includes regular participation of the province in DTI-sponsored regional and national business promotion activities, of introducing high-quality local products to the market. Likewise, the introduction of Likha ng Bataan has earned respectable recognition from other entrepreneurs from Central Luzon, Metro Manila, and other areas of the country for displaying top-quality manufactured products.
