
Mayor AJ Concepcion announced the reopening of the newly renovated Mariveles Sports Complex, describing it as a major step forward for sports development, youth engagement, and community unity in the municipality. The upgraded facility is expected to serve as a central venue for athletic training, competitions, and public events.
The rehabilitation included improvements to the playing courts, grandstand, lighting, and support facilities to ensure safer and more inclusive use for athletes and spectators. The complex is also positioned to host inter-barangay leagues, school tournaments, and fitness activities aimed at encouraging active lifestyles among residents.
Mayor Concepcion acknowledged the support of Bataan Representatives Gila Garcia of Bataan 3rd District and Pusong Pinoy Partylist Rep. Jett Nisay, citing their assistance in securing resources for the project. He emphasized that the partnership with national leaders helped fast-track the upgrades and align the facility with modern standards.
The mayor also reiterated the local government’s commitment to maintaining the sports complex and promoting a healthy, smoke-free Mariveles. He said the facility will be protected and managed responsibly to ensure long-term benefits for the youth and the broader community.
