Morong farms get irrigation through SGLG

Scores of farmers in Sitio Tayaong, in Barangay Binaritan, Morong have reasons to be merry this Christmas season – their farm lands are now fully irrigated.

Thanks to the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s “Seal of Good Local Governance-Incentive Fund (SGLG-IF) program this year which gave Morong town P1, 149,784.63 for the construction of the much needed irrigation canal project.

The project will give water access to surrounding agricultural lands which are usually affected during the dry season. Morong is an agricultural municipality with a vast farm lands but with no stable irrigation system.

Through social media, Morong Mayor Leila Linao Munoz expressed gratitude to the DILG for the successful implementation of the program which gained equal support from the Sangguniang Bayan.
