According to Vice Mayor Roberto “Wangbu” Pabustan,  the DILG’s assessment focuses on the quality and impact of ordinances passed by the Sangguniang Bayan. These include measures promoting socio-economic growth and initiatives ensuring responsible environmental management in the municipality.

The Local Legislative Award is designed to inspire municipal councils across the country to uphold excellence in governance. It also serves as a benchmark for creating laws that address community needs and promote sustainable development.

Local officials led by Mayor Erik Martel expressed optimism that Abucay’s efforts will be recognized by the DILG. They emphasized their commitment to delivering responsible and fair public service, ensuring that legislative actions reflect the best interests of the people.
