AFAB implements 4-day work week; Mayor AJ orders monitoring of gas stations

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) will implement a compressed 4-day workweek next week from 7:30am to 6:30 pm to ensure undisrupted flow of its import-export operations.

A little less than 100 locators are operating in the Freeport Area of Bataan with roughly 40,000 workers. Most of the FAB firms are engaged in manufacturing activities, said Faye Arceo, AFAB information officer.

Arceo said since FAB locators are private entities they are not obliged to implement the government imposed 4-day workweek unless the management says so. “Most of them are in manufacturing status and their operations might be compromised if they would impose the 4-day workweek,” she added.

Meanwhile, Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion had ordered the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) to monitor gas stations in his town to ensure that consumers are protected from unscrupulous gas dealers.

At The Bunker, just like any other government offices, Gov. Enrique Garcia III ordered a 4-day workweek duty except in offices dealing with rescue and emergency cases.
