The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) highlighted its achievements under the government’s Freedom of Information (FOI) Program as it celebrated the initiative’s 10th anniversary.

AFAB stated it’s FOI journey began in 2017 when it was recognized as an FOI Champion Nominee. The agency continued to strengthen its transparency efforts by consistently earning recognition in the Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCC) category from 2018 to 2020, receiving the Best FOI Receiving Officer Award in 2023, and maintaining its FOI Compliant status from 2020 to 2025.

From 2017 to the first semester of 2026, AFAB processed 1,527 FOI requests with an average processing time of just three working days, reflecting its commitment to providing timely access to public information and responsive government.

AFAB  also remained active in promoting transparency by participating in FOI Roadshows, Summits, Bootcamps, and FOI Receiving Officers (FROs) Hangouts.

It improved public access to information by conducting FOI orientations and integrating an FOI Quick Link on its official website.
