Barangay officials from all over Bataan gathered on August 12 at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion to receive their PHP 200,000 financial assistance under the Bawat Barangay Makikinabang (BBM) program of the national government.

Of the total amount, PHP 100,000 is intended for various community development projects and other local needs identified by the barangay, while the remaining PHP 100,000 is allotted for scholarship assistance, with five qualified college students from each barangay set to receive PHP 20,000 each in support of their studies.

In his message, Governor Joet Garcia encouraged barangay officials to make full use of the fund for projects that will benefit the greater community, and to align these with their respective Barangay Development Masterplans to ensure well-planned and lasting impact.

The initiative forms part of the national government’s efforts, coursed through the provincial government, to bring development directly to the grassroots and ensure that every barangay benefits from programs that improve the lives of the residents.
