The Provincial Government of Bataan, through the Office of the Provincial Population Officer (OPPO), conducted an Adolescent Health and Development Forum themed “The Epic Values of Love and Sexuality” alongside the Teen Information Center (TIC) Stakeholders Consultation last August 13 at the Tourism Pavilion.
The activity brought together Provincial Population Workers, Local Population Workers, Adolescent Health and Development (AHD) Counselors, guidance counselors, Bataan Youth Development Office (BYDO) and Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) representatives, Sangguniang Kabataan officials and peer facilitators, midwives, and Provincial Board members Hon. Roman Harold Espeleta, Hon. Jorge Estanislao, and Hon. Lovely Joy Poblete.
The forum aimed to strengthen the capacity of adolescent health stakeholders in promoting positive adolescent development through values-based population education and policy guidance, while further strengthening the implementation of the province’s adolescent health and development initiatives.
A significant part of the forum was the session on “The Epic Values of Love and Sexuality,” facilitated by Vicente “Tex” Hernandez, Project Director and Program Developer of the Philippine Foundation for Cultural and Educational Development, Inc., and an active volunteer of EduChild Foundation Inc.
The activity also included discussions on Provincial Ordinance No. 17, Series of 2026, also known as the Bataan Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention and Response Ordinance, the results of the 2025 TIC Awarding, and the 2026 Search for the Most Functional Teen Information Center, providing stakeholders an opportunity to share insights and strengthen the implementation of youth-focused programs.
Through said forum and consultation, Bataan continues to equip its adolescent health stakeholders with knowledge and guidance that can help young people make informed, responsible, and values-based decisions as they navigate adolescence.
