Children with Down Syndrome benefit from Project Saysay

AboitizPower through its private limited partnerships GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD), brought joy to children with Down Syndrome in Bataan under its Project Saysay program in celebration of World Down Syndrome Day at Limay Sports Complex.

Volunteer-employees from GMEC and GNPD who are celebrating their birthday in March participated in the outreach activity held in partnership with the Rotary Club of Mariveles, Rotary Club of Mariveles Ecozone, and other members of the Bataan Association of Rotary Clubs.

The GMEC-GNPD contingent was led by CSR Program Supervisor Abie Jacinto under the guidance of Reputation and Stakeholder Management (RSM) Manager Jeps Mendoza. The company distributed 101 hotdog pillows and 101 buckets of biscuits, bringing smiles to the special children during the celebration.

The children accompanied by their parents enjoyed a day of fun and dancing and took home additional packages. Limay Mayor Richie David and Vice Mayor Grace David joined the celebration. Board Member Popoy Dela Rosario, representing Gov. Joet Garcia also attended the event.

Project Saysay is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative of GMEC and GNPD aimed to deliver meaningful impact to host communities. Each month, GMEC and GNPD employees celebrating their birthdays choose to give back by volunteering their time and resources to community activities instead of holding traditional personal celebrations.
