DENR donates logs to support government operations

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), through its provincial office in Bataan and community office in Pilar, donated 70 cubic meters of logs to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) to support government operations in Bataan.

Of the total donated volume, 10 cubic meters were turned over to BFP Orani, while 30 cubic meters each were given to the AFP 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion, Charlie Company, and the BJMP.

The logs, with an equivalent volume of more than 29,600 board feet, were turned over to the DENR from approved tree-cutting permits and will be used for lawful government purposes, including the operational and logistical requirements of the recipient agencies.

DENR Bataan Chief Raul Mamac said the donation reflects the Department’s commitment to responsible forest resource management.

Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo said the initiative also highlights the importance of maximizing government resources through inter-agency collaboration.

“The DENR remains committed to the responsible and transparent use of forest products for the public good. Through strong partnerships with fellow government agencies, we help support community safety while reinforcing our shared responsibility to protect natural resources,” Pablo ended.
