Bataan Governor Jose Enrique “Joet” Garcia III expressed his gratitude to the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for its donation of ICT equipment to the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) to help improve service delivery, particularly in processing requests for financial and medical assistance at the 1Bataan Bagong Pilipinas Integrated Action Center.
The donation was formalized through the signing of a deed of donation between the PGB and DICT, represented by Undersecretary and Chief of Staff Atty. Christina Faye M. Condez-De Sagon. She said the 20 sets of laptops, mouse units, and headsets formed part of the DICT’s Courses for Literacy on Internet and Computer Knowledge (CLICK) project.
Usec. Condez-De Sagon also praised the PGB’s digitalization initiatives, saying these are aligned with DICT’s broader push to widen digital infrastructure and streamline government processes. She likewise discussed the expansion of free public Wi-Fi sites in Region 3 and other measures aimed at improving connectivity and access to digital services.
For his part, Gov. Garcia presented the provincial government’s ongoing digitalization programs in health, education, connectivity, and public service access. Among the initiatives discussed were the rollout of electronic medical records in rural health units, the use of digital tools in schools, and the integration of the Bataeño Pass with the national eGov platform.
