Persons who use drugs (PWUDs) should express some gratitude to Balanga City Government.
The Bataan Collaborative Action for Rehabilitation Empowerment and Support (BCARES) has launched its second batch of community-based drug rehabilitation program which started September 1, 2025 until March 1, 2026.
The initiative was spearheaded by Balanga City Government alongside the City Health Office, Management Information Services Office, the National Council of Chaplains Philippines (NCCP) and barangay officials.
The program will require participants or drug users to undergo a wide-range of rehabilitation process consisting of medical check-ups, psychosocial interventions, counselling sessions, skills-building workshops, and spiritual activities.
The Balanga City Government will ask the family of a participant to join in orientation and support group sessions to enhance their roles.
