In the recently concluded Project TRANSFORM Colloquium 2025 with the theme, “From Science to Action: Local Government Units (LGUs) at the Forefront of Climate and Disaster Resilience Governance”, Gov. Jose Enrique S. Garcia III highlighted the Provincial Government of Bataan’s resilience programs.
In his presentation, Gov. Joet discussed how Bataan has translated climate and disaster science into concrete community-based programs in partnership with different government agencies and the private sector. Among these are the Barangay Resilience Bingo Scorecard (BRBS), 1Bataan Base Map (1BBM), Adopt a Station, Baka1Bataan, Green Mobility programs, and E-Mobility for Sustainability.
Furthermore, Gov. Joet emphasized that Project TRANSFORM provided not only a science-based roadmap but also a unifying platform that has engaged and brought over 40 public and private partners to help in strengthening Bataan’s resilience and sustainability.
Gov. Joet also signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for the Abucay Mangrove Adoption and Protection Project under Baka1Bataan program which is anchored on ensuring the protection and rehabilitation of an 8-hectare mangrove area for the next seven (7) years.
