
Mayor Raquel Francis D. Garcia has been appointed as Focal Mayor for Education to the National Executive Board of the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) for the term 2025–2028. The appointment recognizes her commitment to advancing education not only in Balanga City but also across the country.
Mayor Garcia’s new role will enable her to help shape policies and programs that strengthen the quality of education in Philippine cities. She is expected to work closely with other local leaders and stakeholders to address pressing challenges in the education sector, including access, quality, and innovation in learning.
The LCP, composed of the country’s 149 component, independent, and highly urbanized cities, serves as a platform for collaboration among city mayors to promote sustainable development and good governance. As Focal Mayor for Education, Garcia will represent the interests of cities in the formulation of education-related initiatives and advocate for measures that will benefit students nationwide.
