Mariveles, Aboitiz Power ink deal for Youth Disaster Training, Coastal Clean-Up

The Municipal Government of Mariveles and Aboitiz Power formally signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) aimed at strengthening youth disaster preparedness and promoting environmental protection through coastal clean-up programs.

The agreement will provide disaster response training for young Mariveleños, equipping them with basic skills in emergency preparedness, first aid, rescue awareness, and community response during calamities such as typhoons, earthquakes, and flooding. Local officials said the initiative seeks to develop a new generation of trained volunteers ready to assist during emergencies.

Aside from disaster readiness, the partnership also includes coastal clean-up drives in key shoreline areas of Mariveles. The activity is expected to mobilize youth groups, barangay volunteers, and community organizations in efforts to reduce marine waste, protect coastal resources, and preserve the town’s natural environment.

Municipal leaders described the MoA signing as a significant step in building a safer and more sustainable Mariveles. They noted that collaboration between the local government and private sector remains essential in addressing both disaster risks and environmental concerns.

Officials also thanked Aboitiz Power for its continued support to the municipality, expressing hope for more joint programs in the future that will benefit residents, create opportunities for the youth, and contribute to the town’s long-term development.
