
The Sangguniang Bayan of Morong is a crafting municipal ordinance aimed at regulating and promoting business establishments. The ordinance authored by municipal councilor Hero Santos, chair of committee on business establishment and industry promotion, will strengthen and promote fair competition and regulation creating a healthy haven for the business sector.
Morong, widely known for its fine beaches and resorts, is a third class municipality with a population of more than 37,000. It used to be the site the Philippine Refugee Processing Center in the 1980s for the thousands of Vietnamese refugees who were later taken to the United States, although a handful of them preferred to stay in the host municipality for good after marrying locals.
Some local residents were able to adopt Vietnamese cuisine called “banh mi” and put up flourishing restaurants within the town proper.
