Morong received a Digital Breakthrough Growth Award from the 5th GCash Digital Excellence Award (GDEA) as recognition for the municipal government’s role as outstanding public sector partner that supports digital financial solutions in modern public service.
The award was received by Morong Mayor Leila G. Linao-Munoz and Vice Mayor Chermaine L. Garcia-Sibug during a ceremony at the Grand Hyatt in Manila last Feb. 19.
With the theme: “Honoring Digital Excellence, Empowering The Future,” Morong joins 45 other visionary partners from nine categories that are leading digital transformation in the country.
The award recognizes Morong’s modern technology that speeds up and strengthens delivery of public service to local residents. “It is a giant step to a more progressive and efficient delivery of prompt service to our constituents,” said Mayor Munoz.
