Farmers and fisherfolk in Balanga City received support worth more than P400 thousand from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR).

The aid package included marine engines, seeds, fertilizers, pressure cookers, and canners.

The turnover coincided with the recent birthday celebration of Mayor Raquel Garcia making the occasion even more meaningful. Mayor Garcia said that the assistance goes beyond meeting daily needs.

“Ang pagtulong sa kapwa ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pagbibigay ng kanilang kakulangan, kundi pati na rin sa pagbibigay ng dignidad sa kanila sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay-lakas upang makatulong din sila sa iba,” the lady mayor said.

The support is expectedly to ease the livelihood of beneficiaries.
