The Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB) recognized outstanding barangays under the 1Bataan Seal of Healthy Barangay Program during an awarding ceremony held on March 10 at the Tourism Pavilion.
The ceremony, led by Governor Joet Garcia, honored barangays that demonstrated exemplary performance in promoting community health from September to December 2025. Each winning barangay received ₱50,000 for every month they secured the award as an incentive for their efforts in advancing public health initiatives in their communities.
Said recognition highlights the strong commitment of local leaders in implementing health-focused programs and best practices. Among the key indicators evaluated are the absence of maternal deaths, prevention of teenage pregnancy, promotion of smoke-free communities, environmental cleanliness, and other health initiatives aimed at improving the overall well-being of residents.
Alongside the awarding ceremony, barangays were also provided with laptops to help bolster their data management and reporting systems. The devices will support barangay officials and health workers in efficiently encoding and monitoring important community health data. During the event, punong barangay were also introduced to the Bataeño Pass, a digital platform designed to enhance the delivery of government services and streamline access to programs and assistance for residents.
Provincial officials emphasized that the recognition serves as both an incentive and a reminder for barangays to continue intensifying their health programs and community initiatives. Through sustained collaboration and commitment at the grassroots level, the Provincial Government of Bataan aims to ensure that every barangay remains safe, organized, and healthy for all Bataeños.
