Protection of Morong coastal resources pushed

Environment officers, agriculturists, and Bantay Dagat representatives underwent a capacity building activity to protect and manage coastal resources in Morong, Bataan.

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources recently held a capacity building orientation for community-based monitoring and critical habitat assessment under the Fisheries and Coastal Resiliency (FishCore) project to promote ecological sustainability and strengthen community through evidence-based management of natural resources.

The collected data will serve as basis from which to improve coastal resources management (CRM) plans of the local government units (LGUs).

The project was also aimed at educating local stakeholders of the right examination of coral reefs, mangroves, and sea grasses, the BFAR said in its statement.
