The spread of rabies is under control and so is the hand-mouth-foot disease (HMFD); cases of pregnancy being tracked down for monitoring and other health issues were discussed in the recent Provincial Health Board meeting presided by Bataan Gov. Joet Garcia.
The Governor discussed during the meeting attended by Board Member Dr. Bong Galicia, LMP Bataan Chapter President Mayor Tonypep Raymundo, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Rosanna Bucahan and municipal health officers, steps that have been taken through the Bataan Rabies Control Committee to arrest the increasing number of rabies exposure in some remote villages.
Dengue cases are also closely monitored through the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Units (PESU) throughout the province. Implementation of mental health access sites are already available in Bataan.
Dr. Buccahan shared updates on her recent trip to Hue City in Vietnam where she attended the 9th Asia Pacific Smoke-Free Meeting.
The DOH laid down the services of Primary Care Facility license tracking of health facility. There are now 10 licensed PCF facilities in Bataan.
