Roman pushes for mass transit master plan

Bataan 1st District Representative Tony Roman III underscored the need for a comprehensive mass transit master plan for the province during the Department of Transportation’s (DOTr) budget briefing, citing the agency’s limited presence in the province despite the rollout of major projects like the Bataan–Cavite Interlink Bridge. Roman said the benefits of such infrastructure will not be immediately felt by his constituents unless paired with localized transport solutions.

Rep. Roman proposed the development of a master plan focused on the Roman Highway, including the establishment of bus lines, modern terminals, and a data-driven system to improve road safety and reduce accidents. He stressed that this initiative would ensure safer, more efficient travel for residents while laying the groundwork for long-term mobility across the province.

Aside from transport, Roman also recommended the construction of tourism ports to generate jobs and boost local income. He called on the DOTr to ensure that its programs are rooted in the real needs of the people, emphasizing that progress should be “felt on every road in Bataan, not just on paper.”The post Roman pushes for mass transit master plan appeared first on 1Bataan.
