Bataan 1st District Representative Tony Roman III is pushing for the establishment of a Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) in Bataan to strengthen the capabilities of local farmers through modern training and technical support.
Rep. Roman recently met with officials of the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI), including Officer-in-Charge Center Director Emmanuel Orogo, to discuss the process of setting up the facility that will serve as a training hub for farmers in the province’s First District.
Congressman Roman said the proposed learning site aims to provide farmers with better access to agricultural technology demonstrations, farm management training, and other capacity-building programs designed to improve productivity and sustainability in farming communities.
Aside from technical training, the initiative is also expected to guide farmers on how to access government programs, financial assistance, and other support services offered by the agriculture department and partner agencies.
Rep. Roman added that orientations will soon be conducted for farmers’ groups and agricultural organizations across the First District to ensure wider participation, noting that the project seeks to empower local farmers with knowledge and opportunities that can strengthen the region’s agricultural sector.
