“Madami pa po tayong dapat tulungan, kumbaga isang step palang po ito sa mga pangarap ng mga Bataeño,” Bataan Human Settlement Office (BHSO-PGO) Housing Coordinator Chris Leonzon said during the coordination meeting held at The Bunker yesterday, October 28, as the project nears completion.
Said village, located in Sitio Bani, Brgy. Cataning, has six (6) buildings with 36 units each for the 216 informal settler families living near Talisay River, which is part of the writ of mandamus for the Manila Bay rehabilitation.
In line with the Community-Based Initiative Approach (CBIA) of the National Housing Authority (NHA), once completed, the beneficiaries can enjoy amenities such as parks and playgrounds, church, terminal, materials recovery facility, health center, daycare center, and elementary school, among others.
Balanga City Mayor Francis Garcia, NHA Former Regional Manager Meliza Benedito, newly-installed Regional Manager Minerva Calantuan, PENELCO Engineering Chief Engr. Edwin Zalvidar, Bilrey Construction representative Arch. Juffrey Mariano Hernandez and the staff of their respective offices attended said event.
