During the 5th International Conference on Learning Cities (ICLC), Bataan 2nd Congressional District Representative Joet Garcia shared the Province of Bataan and City of Balanga’s best practices on healthy lifestyle
Hosted by the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities, said conference, held via Zoom application last Friday, October 29, was anchored on the theme “From emergency to resilience: Building healthy and resilient cities through learning”.
Among the programs presented by Congressman Garcia were the Tobacco-Free Generation, World-Breaking Records on Health Promotion through Dance Fitness, School Caravans, Zoom-ba: Online Hataw via Zoom, Zero Kilometro: Bataan COVID-19 Response on Mental Health, KAsama ANI sa Barangay ng Bataan (KAANIBB), and Hataw Takbo Bataan.
He also shared the new facilities and the expansion of areas in the province where every Bataeño can safely exercise and emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy body and mind, especially during this pandemic.
The UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities (GNLC), coordinated by the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, is an international policy-oriented network focused on knowledge production and sharing, peer learning, and capacity-building.
The 5th International Conference on Learning Cities provides an opportunity to explore how learning cities can promote health education and contribute to emergency response efforts like those established during the COVID-19 pandemic.
