Newly elected officials of Balanga City, led by Mayor Raquel Garcia, participated in a strategic planning session organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) on July 11, 2025. Held during the Executive Briefing on the State of Local Governance, the event aimed to align the city’s executive and legislative bodies under the theme #KahangahangangMapagkalinga governance. Mayor Garcia expressed gratitude to city officials and department heads for their early commitment and collaboration just two weeks into her term.
One of the highlights of the program was the presentation of accomplishments and performance updates from city department heads grouped per cluster. Reports covered key areas such as the State of Local Governance (SGLG), City Peace and Order Council (CPOC), City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC), and Gawad Kalasag. Other departments also presented updates on audit results for programs like LCPC, LCAT-VAWC, CFLGA, FISHCA, and Manila Bayani audit.
A workshop followed, where city officials identified priority programs, with emphasis on health, education, and environmental initiatives. In her closing remarks, Mayor Garcia reminded everyone of the city’s guiding principle: “Because we are admirable in what we do, we have the capacity to be compassionate.”
