The evaluation criteria encompassed several critical factors, including prevention or decrease of dengue cases, non-communicable diseases, rabies, dangerous drug abuse, and teenage pregnancy, among others. The barangays were likewise assessed on their implementation of various programs such as for national immunization, family planning, voluntary blood donation, national tuberculosis control, nutrition initiatives, as well as their efforts to encourage constituents to register with PhilHealth.
Furthermore, barangays that will consistently secure this recognition for four consecutive quarters within the year will receive an additional PHP200,000, as incentives and funds for furthering health-related programs.
The awards were presented by Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III, Vice Governor Ma. Cristina Garcia, Board Members, PHO Head Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, and the winners’ respective mayors or their representatives.
