A total of 131 board reviewers from the province received financial assistance under the Iskolar ng Bataan program last Friday, June 17.
Vice Gov. Cris Garcia, Iskolar ng Bataan Program adviser, spearheaded the distribution held at the 4th floor of The Bunker, wherein each reviewer received P5,000 financial assistance.
Garcia pointed out that the pandemic brought numerous challenges, yet the Iskolar ng Bataan program continues to assist Bataenos. She also expressed happiness that most beneficiaries have passed the board examinations.
The Vice Governor also said, since the situation is gradually returning to normal, the cash refund for the board/bar review examination may be held twice a year, and assured that if the program needs additional funds, then the Sangguniang Panlalawigan will make way for that.
Hence, it can cater to more Bataenos who need help from the program.
The awarding of Top 30 Students per Municipality may also be held if the face-to-face classes will be fully implemented, she added.
Way back in 2004, the late Governor Tet Garcia and then 2nd district Congressman Gov. Abet Garcia hatched the Iskolar ng Bataan program benefitting ever since about 120,000 college students from the province.
