Through the initiative of Bataan 2nd District Rep. Abet Garcia, 187 college graduates from the district will start employment under the Government Internship Program (GIP). They will be deployed to government offices in the province.
“Cong. Abet Garcia wanted more Bataenos to benefit from the P13 million fund he requested from Speaker Martin Romualdez, that is why he opted to put the money to GIP”, said Bataan 2nd Congressional District Office OIC Geoffrey Loyola during the program orientation and contract signing at The Bunker, capitol compound on Tuesday. “More Bataan families will benefit with the fund channeled to GIP as wanted by Congressman Garcia “, Loyola added. The interns will receive P500 daily allowance for a period of six months, and not to mention gain valuable work experience. Earlier, Garcia expressed his gratitude to the Speaker for the funding support to Bataan 2nd district. GIP is being implemented by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Aside from Loyola, the orientation was also attended by DOLE Provincial Director Leilani M. Reynoso, and PESO Bataan Head Maria Eva Basalo.
