Abucay Mayor Robin Tagle announced recently that he has something to offer to his constituents — free dialysis treatment for the town’s indigent patients numbering more than 40 as of the moment.
The mayor said the project which is jointly funded with P3.2 million by his office and the office of the vice mayor will be in partnership with St. Dominic Dialysis Center.
Mayor Tagle said the program is part of the municipality’s vision of providing free health services to its constituents pending the approval of the Comprehensive Renal Replacement Therapy Act and several other House Bills which aim to provide free medical check-up annually to all Filipinos.
The Sangguniang Bayan of Abucay led by Vice Mayor Roberto Pabustan, Jr. has authorized the construction of a dialysis clinic at the Abucay Arcade and approved the corresponding funds to accommodate the needs of St. Dominic Dialysis Center.
The program aims to provide sets of policies on peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis to make these therapies available and affordable to all constituents.
“This is the first program of its kind in Abucay and we are proud that we can be of help to all our constituents who are in need of these services,” Tagle said.
