In its earnest desire to further elevate the standard of living of farmers in the province, the Provincial Government of Bataan (PGB), through the Provincial Cooperative and Enterprise Development Office (PCEDO) spearheaded a coordination meeting with the Agriculture Innovation and Technology Center (AITC), the 1Bataan Agri Inno-Tech Corp. and Cropital.
The AITC is a public-private partnership venture between the PGB and Agrilever Israel that aims to introduce innovative agriculture farming technology; the best practices of Israel to Bataan farmers such as the use of proper drip irrigation, and modern precision to ensure increase in harvest that will translate to better income to the farmers. Initially, the following cooperatives involved are Watchlife Workers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Morong Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Iwahori Multi-Purpose Cooperative, and Abucay Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
Farmers who are interested to be part of the said endeavor should be members of any of the abovementioned cooperatives. Cropital and AITC are working hand in hand to assist the farmers from planning, financing, up to the implementation of the project. Present in the said meeting are AITC Agrilever Chairman Yoav Schwalb, Governor Abet Garcia, PCEDO Head Azucena Sugatain, and Architect Abigail Cruz Catapang.
