Avoid “Open Cases”, taxpayers told

BIR Bataan headed by Revenue District Officer Merlyn Vicente advised taxpayers to avoid Open Cases.

Failure to file tax returns will result to Open Cases, which pertain to the list of tax returns in the BIR’s system that are tagged as not filed or not submitted.

BIR Bataan urged taxpayers to pay the necessary taxes and fees to avoid having Open Cases.

“Kapag nagpabaya sa obligasyon ang isang taxpayer at nagverify ng record sa BIR makikita ang problema”, BIR Bataan Admin and Human Resource Officer Gemo Espinosa said.

“Kapag taxpayer alam itong tinatawag na Open Cases”, he also said. Open Cases was also among topics discussed in the BIR Bataan kick off tax campaign program last February attended by businessmen and bookkeepers.
