Bataan 3rd District shines at the 2024 SGLG Awards

Third District Representative Gila Garcia proudly announced that the towns of Dinalupihan, Morong, Bagac, and Mariveles in Bataan’s Third District have been named recipients of the distinguished 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) award.

The SGLG, granted annually by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), recognizes municipalities that have exemplified outstanding governance, transparency, accountability, and service to their constituents.

“This recognition is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment of our local leaders and public servants in Dinalupihan, Morong, Bagac, and Mariveles,” Garcia said in a statement. “Their efforts to deliver honest, fair, and efficient governance are invaluable in building stronger communities for our fellow Bataeños.”

The Seal of Good Local Governance is awarded to local government units (LGUs) that meet high standards in several key areas, including financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, health, peace and order, environmental management, tourism, heritage development, and business-friendliness.

Each awardee is a beacon of progress in these areas, fostering an environment that enhances the quality of life and promotes sustainable growth. With this recognition, the four towns not only gain the honor of carrying the SGLG emblem but are also eligible for funding and support to sustain and further their governance initiatives. The award empowers these municipalities to pursue projects that align with the needs of their constituents and continue uplifting their communities.

The Third District, often celebrated for its tourism, cultural heritage, and economic advancements, gains a new layer of distinction with the SGLG awards. Representative Garcia expressed her gratitude to local leaders and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to uphold these standards, paving the way for greater opportunities and prosperity.

With this honor, Bataan’s Third District reaffirms its dedication to transformative public service, with the SGLG awardees leading the way in creating a brighter and more promising future for all Bataeños.

Meanwhile, other Bataan towns from First and Second Districts also received their respective SGLG awards namely Hermosa, Pilar, Samal, Orani, Balanga City, Abucay, Orion and the Provincial Government of Bataan.
