Bataan commemorated its 268th foundation anniversary on January 11, 2025, with a vibrant lineup of activities centered on the theme, “Celebrating the Resilient Bataeño Family.” The festivities highlighted the unity, strength, and enduring spirit of Bataeños across generations.
The day-long celebration kicked off at 8:00 a.m. with two simultaneous events: the Bataan History Symposium, which will delved into the rich historical tapestry of the province, and Kasayahan sa Kapitolyo, featuring games, cultural performances, and various activities at the Provincial Capitol grounds.
At 10:00 a.m., a Noontime Show took the spotlight, while the 1Bataan Race proved to be an exciting challenge for participants. In the afternoon, a Kundiman Contest showcased traditional Filipino music, followed by a Thanksgiving Mass. to express gratitude for the blessings and progress of the province.
One of the event’s highlights is the Celebration Parade, featuring colorful floats, cultural attire, and delegations from various sectors. Pet enthusiasts joined the Hataw Takbo Dog Marathon at 4:00 p.m., a unique event for both dogs and their owners.
The evening program began with Governor Joet Garcia’s State of the Province Address at 5:00 p.m., where he presented the province’s accomplishments and future plans. The celebration culminated with the Night of Music, Triumph, and Celebration at 6:00 p.m., showcasing local talents and special guest performances.
“This year’s Bataan Foundation Day is not just a celebration; it’s a moment to reflect, unite, and honor our shared heritage as Bataeños,” said Governor Garcia in a statement.
