Bataan discontinues use of VIS.I.TA App

Bataan will no longer use VIS.I.TA App. Then Acting Governor Cris Garcia signed Provincial Ordinance No. 06 Series of 2023 repealing Provincial Ordinance No. 25 Series of 2022 entitled, “An Ordinance Institutionalizing and Implementing the Utilization of the Bataan Visitors Information and Travel Assistance (VIS.I.TA) Application for Relevant Tourism Activities in the Province of Bataan.”

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan headed by then Acting Vice Governor Tony Roman unanimously passed the Provincial Ordinance No. 06 Series of 2023 on May 15, 2023. The ordinance was authored by Board Member Jomar Gaza and Board Member Harold Espeleta and was sponsored by Board Member Popoy Del Rosario. chairman of the SP Committee on Tourism.

Del Rosario said after 10 months of running the system, and given the impending lapse of the term of subscription to the App, the Provincial Tourism Office conducted consultations with the Provincial Information and Technology Office, as well as other information technology consultants, which led to the conclusion that continued subscription to the App is no longer cost-efficient. He also pointed out that several measures have already been issued relaxing health and safety protocols and requirements.
