Last November 17, fully vaccinated Bataan frontline healthcare workers started receiving booster shots against COVID-19. This came after the Department of Health (DOH) announced on Monday the commencement of giving booster shots in the country.
Eligible to receive the booster shots are healthcare workers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least six (6) months ago. Those vaccinated with Janssen at least three (3) months ago may also receive their booster shots.
Pfizer, Moderna, Sinovac, and AstraZeneca are the only brands that were given Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Individuals who were vaccinated with Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZaneca, or Sinovac may get the same brand as a booster dose. Those who were given Sinovac, Sinopharm, Janssen, or Sputnik V may either get Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca; while those vaccinated with Pfizer may get AstraZeneca or Moderna. Moreover, those vaccinated with AstraZeneca may get Pfizer or Moderna; and those vaccinated with Moderna may get Pfizer or AstraZeneca.
