Bataan Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III had asked the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (provincial board) under Vice Gov. Cris Garcia to pass a resolution authorizing the former to sign a memorandum of agreement with the Agricultural Training Institute for the swine artificial insemination project in barangays (villages).
The said project to be launched in Barangay Bangkal, Abucay, Bataan is under the Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) program of the Department of Agriculture. It was launched by the national government to implement calibrated repopulation and enhancement of the local swine industry affected by the African swine fever.
Gov. Joet said that the project can provide beneficiaries which include housing facilities, breeder animals, equipment and initial inputs.
“It is imperative to collaborate with the Regional Training Center and various stakeholders to accomplish the common goal of promoting and enhancing our local swine industry which is vital to the economic development of Bataan,” said the new governor.
