Bataan PDRRMO conducts WASAR training

Members of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, select employees from the Provincial Government, Bataan Provincial Police Office, and volunteers from the Bataan Search and Rescue Response Operations (SARRO) participated in the annual Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) Training to be equipped with life-saving skills essential during water-related incidents and calamities.

Spearheaded by the Bataan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), the five-day WASAR Training was held at Sibul Nature Spring, Abucay from June 26 to 29, and in Olongapo on June 30.

Instructors from the Olongapo Fire Rescue led the rigorous training including standard first aid, basic life support, swimming, rescue, and survival techniques. Today, July 3, is the kick-off ceremony for the National Disaster Resilience Month, where the PDRRMO shall conduct several activities and events for the whole month of July that aim to promote disaster preparedness and response.
