In pursuit of deeper and more meaningful partnerships, Governor Joet Garcia met with Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines His Excellency Endo Kazuya to discuss potential areas of collaboration that support Bataan’s development agenda.
The governor was joined by 3rd District Representative Gila Garcia and Department of Education Schools Division Office of Bataan Superintendent Carol Violeta where they highlighted ongoing efforts to improve education, modernize agriculture, enhance public health, and promote sustainable infrastructure. These are areas where Japan is globally recognized for its leadership and effective practices.
One of the key topics discussed was the upcoming implementation of the Healthy Lunch Program in Bataan’s public schools this September. The Provincial Government is looking to adopt Japan’s strategies and approach to student nutrition, which has long been considered a model for promoting both academic performance and overall well-being.
Meanwhile, Congresswoman Garcia expressed interest in partnering with Japan to help local farmers improve productivity and adapt to modern methods, with the goal of stabilizing food supply and prices. They also shared on-going major infrastructure initiatives in the Province including the development of the Bataan Coastal Road and efforts to expand the use of renewable energy.
Both officials extended their gratitude to the Japanese government for its consistent support and reaffirmed the province’s commitment to building strong and lasting partnerships that directly benefit the people of Bataan.
