Governor Joet Garcia and Vice Governor Cris Garcia led the opening of Bisita Bayan in the town of Orani on Tuesday.
They were joined by other Sangguniang Panlalawigan members and department heads of the provincial government.
Orani officials and employees warmly welcomed them headed by Mayor Bonjong Pascual.
Orani barangay officials, representatives of national agencies, and civil society groups joined in welcoming the provincial government’s contingent.
In his message during the opening ceremony, Gov. Garcia said the Bisita Bayan aims to strengthen collaboration and cooperation of programs and services between the provincial government and the particular municipality.
He said he hopes the month-long conduct of Bisita Bayan in Orani will be significant and fruitful.
For her part, Vice Gov. Garcia said she is honored to the sharing of best practices in governance between the provincial government and LGU Orani as well as learn from each other in the operation of respective offices.
Pascual said they want their initiatives in the municipality aligned with the thrust “Matatag na Pamilyang Bataeno” of the provincial government.
He said as Araw ng Orani celebration falls within the scheduled conduct of Bisita Bayan, he is privileged and humbled to share effective governance with respected leaders in the province.
He said despite many challenges, he wants their constituents to feel that the government is there for them.
Activities in Bisita Bayan Orani include Trade Fair, Orani General Assembly, Gov. Joet meeting with Barangay Officials, Orani Grand Parade, Establishments Float Parade, 64th Canonical Anniversary Mass at Minor Basilicia (Most Holy Rosary Orani Parish Church), Orani Fish Landing and Trading Facility Groundbreaking, Dog Marathon, and Hataw Takbo Bataan Orani Leg, among others.
