Gov. Joet Garcia said the mothballed Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) can be converted into one of the biggest cloud computing data center facility in the world.
BNPP is a strong structure and equipped with water-cooling facility which is suited for a data center. Garcia said in USA, military barracks are used as data centers being safe and secured.
The governor narrated that he met a group of Filipino IT experts in Silicon Valley, USA who founded Nautilus company headed by world-class innovator Arnold Magcale a few years back.
He said Magcale told him that BNPP can be converted into a data center primarily because it is sturdy, secure and has water cooling facility.
The governor also said that Magcale pointed out that the data center can use the water cooling facility provision of the BNPP, which means lesser electricity expenses for the operator.
