BTO card, a development program in Orani

Mayor Bondjong Pascual initiated programs in Orani geared towards institutional development for efficient delivery of services to his constituents. A pioneering program he launched last year is the Basta Taga Orani (BTO) Card system.

At present, many financial assistance of the local government unit are conveniently distributed to Orani beneficiaries through the card, the mayor said. Funeral, hospital pharmacy, laboratory assistance are given through it. Beneficiaries will just have to present a guarantee letter issued by the MSWDO and the BTO Card to partner-establishments to get the assistance.

Pascual said financial assistance to barangay tanods and barangay health workers are now also distributed through the card. Some of the cancer and dialysis patients who are receiving medical assistance from Orani LGU under the Bigay Pag-asa program now get the aid also through the card. The junior and senior high school students benefiting from municipality’s Tulong Galing educational assistance now receive through the BTO Card their quarterly allowance amounting to P1,250 or equivalent to P5,000 a year.

The mayor said with the BTO Card, his constituents receive their assistance easier, faster, and more convenient. “BTO Card is an institutional development as the program will continue to serve Orani residents even when I already finish my term”, he pointed out.
